Adam Eaton (Vic)
Adam Eaton is an Australian singer/songwriter living in Norway. Sometimes he performs alone and sometimes he performs with the help of some very talented Norwegian musicians. Adam Eaton’s debut EP was recorded on a small island off the west coast of Norway and then mixed & mastered in Melbourne. February will see Adam Eaton returning to Australia for the release of his Debut EP; Festival dates; Tours & a lot more. The Metropolitan | 10-30 pm

Akoustic Odyssey (SA)
Akoustic Odyssey is Adelaide’s own original, instrumental and eclectic seven piece band. Their rich and eclectic tapestry of music is a feast for your musical soul. With an original blend of instruments and musical flavours, they will take you on a journey, an odyssey, through Rock, Baroque, Latin, Jazz, Mediterranean and Medieval music. Angel & The Badman (SA)
Angel & The Badman is collaboration between two young Adelaide singer songwriters. Rachel Cearns is a 21 year old singer song writer who has been gracing her home town with her beautiful solo acoustic, ambient electronica for the last few years. Dusty Lee is a 21 year old musician who plays every instrument under the sun. This collaboration embarks on a style that bridges their inspirations and styles but meets somewhere in the middle. Archie (SA)
Constantly inspired by our surroundings, from jazz to French electro pop, we are always evolving and growing from our humble jazz beginnings. With lush vocal harmonies and dirty jungle rhythms we are always trying to make new and interesting sounds. Bec Laughton (Qld)
Blue-eyed quirky soul/pop singer, Bec Laughton, is an endearing and feisty “vocal powerhouse”. The firey songstress is known for her quirky uninhibited lyricism, irresistible grooves and intoxicating stage presence. Nominated and highly commended 4 times for the Q Song awards across the last 2 years, there is no question of her ability to pen a tune. Higher Ground | 11-30 pm

Blackchords (Vic)
Hailing from Melbourne, Blackchords have been widely acclaimed on their native turf and in the UK (“One of the best Australian debut releases”, Reverb Magazine, “LOVE LOVE Blackchords” Kerrang! Radio) with critics raving that their darkly majestic collection of understated songs recalls the best bits of Ryan Adams & Jeff Buckley. Since their debut album in 2009, the band have spent their time fine tuning their live shows and touring nationally. Nexus | 10-30 pm

Dancing Heals (Vic)
Dancing Heals is a Melbourne based four piece that tastefully weaves tales of nostalgia, angst and lust into melodic and memorable popular songs. Combining youthful passion, soaring synths and crystal acoustics layered with the subtlety of red wine inebriation; the music lies somewhere between the thump of Arcade Fire and delicacy of Nick Drake. Daniel Cameron (SA)
Australian Singer/Songwriter Daniel Cameron has a raw and truthful sound to his music, driven by his experiences and passion to see his audience influenced by positive lyrics… Over his career he has been influenced by artists such as John Butler Trio and Mumford and Sons, his music being a blend of folk rock and roots. Daniel’s music is genuine, with catchy melodies and reflecting lyrics which leave a realistic impression. The Metropolitan | 9-30 pm

Delia Obst (SA)
Acoustic, indie folk. Telling stories strung together by an original and haunting voice that slips and cracks. Delia Obst is an Adelaide singer-songwriter, who’s raw and arresting vocals take you from the darkness of loss, to tales from across the seas. It is set to be an exciting year for the new performer as work is underway on her debut EP. Jive | 8-30 pm

Fahrenheit 43 (Vic)
“It’s a big call, but in my opinion, Fahrenheit 43 are one of the best pop rock groups to surface in a long, long time…” Dave Griffiths, Buzz Magazine. In July 2011, Fahrenheit 43 recorded their highly anticipated debut full-length album with renown American producer, Paul Leavitt. One of Australia’s most exciting emerging bands, Fahrenheit 43 are set to release their debut album in 2012, as they tour Australia and the Philippines. Fowlers Live | 11-30 pm

Gemini Downs (SA)
Indie pop rockers Gemini Downs play music bursting with energy and colour. Having graced top music festivals alongside Eskimo Joe & The Beautiful Girls, Gemini Downs are fast establishing themselves as one of the most exciting emerging acts on the Australian music scene. With interstate tours, emerging international sales, Triple J airplay and commercial radio exposure already under their vintage funk belts, these guys are ones to watch out for in 2012. HAWKAI (SA)
Founding member Jason Slack (Ex guitarist for The Superjesus) decided to put this band together after a long musical hiatus with a vision of a band that can appeal to both a mainstream audience, and a harder underground audience. HAWKAI recently registered with the Pushworth group landing them the support for A Thousand Needles In Red, and have spent 2011 gigging locally and recording an E.P due for release Feb/March 2012. Hawks of Alba (SA)
Hawks of Alba were thrust into the music world by Triple J before they had played a gig together. “Look What You’ve Become” received airplay on Triple J and the band went on to win a spot on the Adelaide 2010 Big Day Out. “Dear Punk Rock,..” has been nearly a year in the making with the band recording the songs themselves and sending it away to be finished by their heroes. Irie Knights (SA)
An infectious 10 piece that combines their overwhelming spirit and energy with hard hitting reggae grooves. Basing their sound on traditional roots reggae and infusing it with a range of influences from Funk, Folk, Rock and Hip Hop, the Irie Knights have created a unique style of reggae guaranteed to move ya! Johnny McIntyre (SA)
Johnny McIntyre is an ingenious story teller. With a style and sound of old folk/country/blues he brings to your ears a reminiscent taste of early rock’n’roll recordings. Live or recorded expect fiery stories forged with smooth melodies and warm tones. Higher Ground | 9-30 pm

Jungle City (SA)
Spawned in the hell fires of Clovelly Park, in a hot box lounge room on a sweltering summers day, three young men decided to create a sound so powerful that their six cats and a freezer full of frozen pizzas burst into flames. Success! They mourned for the cats and went hungry for days but it was all worth it! With their first album in production, the future lays glittering ahead for this rock, blues, funk, punk trio! Law of Attraction (WA)
The band’s seeds were sewn in 2004, in the hearts and minds of young Clint Bouffler (guitar) and John Barrett (guitar/vocals). Adding percussion, courtesy of Benn Lofthouse (drums), a year later, the trio began producing a sound replicating their unique mix of inspirations. The recently dropped 5 track EP ‘Obscurity’ is sure to create a stir in the Australian music scene with songs showcasing the musicality that is Law Of Attraction. Enigma Stage 1 | 11-00 pm

Like Leaves (SA)
Like Leaves are a band from Adelaide, Australia, who play experimental psych-rock melded with drone, prog, shoegaze and freak folk influences. Like Leaves was formed when Daniel Varricchio & Patrick Saracino, both former touring members of fellow Adelaide psychedelic outfit Wolf & Cub, began collaborating with Ryan Manolakis, drummer for respected ambient-rock act Mr.Wednesday late in 2007. Juliet Hunter (previously of Artax Mission) joined Like Leaves soon after. Her distinctive vocal presence & unconventional violin work adding yet more layers to their heady electric tapestry. Like Leaves cemented their reputation as a strong live act on the Adelaide circuit, with performance highlights including their live 2009 collaboration with infamous psychedelic guru & Krautrock legend, former CAN vocalist, Damo Suzuki. Lyla (SA)
It’s soul, it’s garage, it’s real. It’s music from the neck down. Lyla. They’d rather make you dance than drool. Max Savage and The False Idols
Vintage soul meets the outback with beautifully crafted songs from the central desert. Stories of hearbreak, loneliness and redemption, are the stock of a group that plays music rooted in the traditions of the Go-Betweens and Paul Kelly The False Idols are a band of exceptionally gifted young musicians who fit seamlessly into the twin traditions of country and soul. Mayhem Addition (NSW)
Mayhem Addition are a 5 piece melodic rock band from Sydney, Australia. Originally formed in mid 2008. Mayhem Addition rapidly took off after gathering a small fan base and playing with the likes of The Mission in Motion, Mest (USA), Heroes For Hire, Something With Numbers, The Bride, City Escape, Therefore I Am (USA) and many more. Messrs (SA)
Combining indie rock and dance punk with intricate guitars and multi layered washes of synth, Messrs have spent the past few years focussing their talents touring Australia and the UK playing a number of festivals and support slots (Phoenix, Miami Horror etc). Ed Castle | 10-00 pm

Michaela Burger (SA)
Trained classically and in musical theatre in London, Michaela returns home, after several years abroad, as an accomplished singer/songwriter to launch her debut album. Her song style has been compared to The Waifs, Angus and Julia stone, Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush. At 4 foot 11 inches audiences are never prepared for the powerful voice that comes from her tiny frame. The Metropolitan | 8-30 pm

Miss Elm (QLD)
As a graduate of Griffith Conservatorium she comes from a strong background of musical creativity with art enthusiast parents and a strong thirst for creativity. Having self-taught herself piano, she creates left of centre music with jazz & pop influences, likened to artists such as Lily Allen and Regina Spektor. As Quoted in Brisbane’s Rave Magazine “Miss Elm has a voice both tender and demanding, her piano is part pop and a sliver of jazz infusion”. Worldsend | 9-00 pm

Miss Little (NSW)
“Like a lotus, Miss Little has appeared and with her she has brought an original and very powerful music that reflects her view from wherever she is standing or sitting at her keyboard. Few artists resonate in this place and it is my belief that Miss Little brings a new sound to our life for our minds and our hearts to enjoy on this ride with her” – Mr. Percival. Cuckoo | 9-00 pm

Move To Strike (SA)
Move To Strike is a rock band from Adelaide, who has fast become of one of South Australia’s premier acts. The bands original sound added with their unforgettable live show has seen them grace the stage with many established international and national heavy weights. Naomi Keyte
Naomi Keyte (Gold Bloom) writes and performs down tempo, candid songs that are both lyrical and melodic. Using a loop pedal to layer voice and guitar, she manages to create a distinct rhythmic and harmonic language that can be dually melancholic and stirring. Her influences include Bjork, Neil Young, Laura Jean and Beach House. Grace Emily | 10-00 pm

Oh Me My (SA)
Oh Me My is the collaborative project between Luke Golding and Stacey Abbott. Since teaming up in 2010 this indie-folk duo has quietly amassed a loyal fan-base in and around Adelaide, picking up supports for the likes of Tessa and the Typecast and Princess One Point Five. There’s a natural diversity to the duo’s gentle songs, yet there’s a seamless connection which links all the material, especially with the strong storytelling element. Casablabla | 8-30 pm

Osh10 (Vic)
Take electronica, mash it up with trip hop via jazz, funk and pop and you might find yourself in the unique world that is osh10 (aka Aimee Chapman). Starting with chameleon vocals, funked out bass, beats, synth and effects to create a sound that has been likened to everyone from Bjork and Portishead to the 70s funk of Parliament. Patient Little Sister (WA)
Over a long weary summer Eliza and James Rogers a once typically squabbling brother and sister duo decided to dabble in being a musical duo called Patient Little Sister. With a few cracking shows already under their belts and some very fine recordings with help from the very strapping and talented Corey Marriott Patient Little Sister will become something to get a little bit excited about. Rainy Day Women (WA)
Fronted by singer songwriter Dylan Ollivierre, Rainy Day Women are a young 5-piece pop-rock outfit from Perth, whose influences range from Fleetwood Mac to Foo Fighters. Forming in mid 2011, the band have been quick to enjoy success with both their debut single ‘If’ and current single ‘Sleigh Bed’ garnering attention at radio nationwide, including Triple J, 4ZZZ, Triple R, 3PBS and RTRfm. Roscoe James Irwin (Vic)
Roscoe James Irwin has cemented his place as a kind of musical mastermind. From his involvement with seminal Australian bands The Cat Empire and The Bamboos, to his highly ambitious compositions and arrangements that have been performed by countless big bands and orchestras. It seems that Irwin, whose musical palette is colourful and wide ranging, has surprised us all with a record that is simple, thoughtful, and beautiful. Higher Ground | 12-30 am

Saving Savannah (SA)
Hailing from South Australia, Saving Savanah are a riff driven rock project founded by frontman Ryan Paterson. The band prides themselves on being an intelligent yet powerful rock act, that pack a very impressive punch. Saving Savanah have shared the stage with the likes of Grinspoon, Bob Evans and Trial Kennedy. Enigma Stage 2 | 9-30 pm

Shameem (WA)
“Some performers need the audience to listen long and carefully before anyone gets that there is something good going on. With Shameem you’d have to be locked in a lead-lined room to miss this lady’s sparkle. Her charisma and sheer energy on stage command attention and the listener is rewarded with a swinging, soulful sound – this is what jazz is all about.” – James Morrison. Casablabla | 10-30 pm

Split Seconds (WA)
It’s been a massive 12 months for Western Australia’s premier indie 5 piece Split Seconds. The band started 2011 by taking out Triple J’s unearthed competition to play the Perth Big Day Out and went on to play just about every summer festival on the map. The band has been anointed as a Triple J’s Next Crop artist 2012 and has been invited to showcase at Canadian Music Week and South By Southwest in the coming year. Fowlers Live | 12-30 am

Tales in Space (NSW)
Tales in Space are an alternative electronic rock band from Sydney, Australia. With a powerful delivery, their live show offers melodic guitars, slamming beats and strong harmonies with an electronic/sample based twist. Tales in Space took on the challenge of covering an Adele hit. As a result the cover featured on a Ministry of Sounds Compilation alongside an esteemed list of recording artists including The Killers. Ed Castle | 11-00 pm

The Beat Co. (SA)
The Beat Co. is Adelaide MC Mark D’Amico (MD’A) an acoustic guitar and a macbook. It is not your typical aussie hip hop with musical influences ranging from Blink 182 to Kid Cudi, MD’A blends his eccentric lyrics with guitar and synth to create a unique sound. Cuckoo | 10-00 pm

The Belligerents (QLD)
Explosive Brisbane five piece, The Belligerents are a dance frenzied, disco-pop outfit renowned for their energetic live shows and sweet recordings. The band has supported big international acts, has a debut EP out with a national tour to promote it, with backing of national (Triple J) radio. Amidst a haze of house parties, crazy and doubtless fate and an amorous obsession for music, a band was created. Jive | 10-30 pm

The Guppies (NSW)
Kids, there’s a new fish in town. ‘The Guppies,’ combine guitar, vocals, drums and bass to create an individual sound that even Dori couldn’t forget. The Guppies sound is very reminiscent of sneaking out at 2am, the angst of being a teenager and the warmth of Grandpa’s favourite loafers; believe me when I say this is one Guppy even Rex Hunt wouldn’t throw back. The Human Electric (Vic)
The Human Electric is a Melbourne based rock/alternative band. With an explosive live act The Human Electric played an impressive set at the inaugural ‘FESTIVUS for the Rest of Us Festival’ in Geelong, alongside Little Red, Children Collide and The Vasco Era. They have also had the pleasure of playing alongside Lydia (usa) Ben Jorgenson, Armour for sleep (usa), Gyroscope, Kisschasy and many more great acts from all over oz. Enigma Stage 2 | 10-30 pm

The Killgirls (SA)
The Killgirls are a 5-piece indie/electro band with teeth. They have played to 40,000 at the Fringe Opening Party and in 2011 they rocked the Boiler Room, Parklife & Clipsal and are currently on tour supporting Dead Letter Circus. In October, The Killgirls released their sophomore EP, ANIMAL – the sound of The Killgirls unleashed. The Killgirls make music for party people that like getting smacked in the face and held in the heart. Fowlers Live | 10-30 pm

The Lazy’s (NSW)
The journey began in 2007 when the boys hit the road with fellow Central Coast band, Something with Numbers. Quickly building a loyal fan base further national tours followed, sharing the stage with bands such as Against Me (US), Ms Juliette Lewis & Aussie bands such as Gyroscope, The Living End, Grinspoon and more. The Lazy’s play music that is loud, raw and has loads of energy. Worldsend | 12-00 am

The Leitmotif (SA)
The Leitmotif are the Smiths meet the Pixies. They have received favourable airplay on Nova FM’s Adelaide Show, interviews on Radio Adelaide, as well as being included in the JayJay’s in store nation-wide playlist. In the past year The Leitmotif have shared the stage with a host of interstate and local acts such as: Faker, The Cairos, Young Heretics, as well as playing a string of headline shows. The Shiny Brights (SA)
In their short career the Shiny Bright’s have received tons of rave media reviews, have played some of the best Australian festivals, supported The Wombats, The Drums, The Vines & British India and have played at CMJ Music Marathon & The Great Escape. In 2011 they released their new single ‘Blue Toes’ recorded and produced by Paul ‘Woody’ Annison (Children Collide, Red Riders). Jive | 11-30 am

The Timbers (SA)
The Timbers play high energy alternative folk. Their lively and passionate approach to performing is making them a “must see” act on the Adelaide live music scene. Thom Lion
With influences ranging from Bob Dylan to Radiohead, Thom Lion has found a unique style of folk music. With his engaging presence Lion delivers his musical narratives with honesty, humour and sincerity. Grace Emily | 9-00 pm

Traveller & Fortune (SA)
Traveller & Fortune play bittersweet folk songs. Lilting melodies, soaring harmonies, horns, double bass, keys, ukulele and mandolin combine to create something unique: Something big and dark and folky; something whimsical; something that would tie itself to a bunch of helium balloons and try to fly. Traveller & Fortune are looking forward to the year ahead with more showcases lined up across North America including appearing at the Canadian Music Week. Higher Ground | 8-30 pm

Winter People (NSW)
Winter People were born into tradition, but raised on distortion pedals and amplifiers. This six-piece, boasting no fewer than 2 violin players and 5 vocalists, do not offer standard ‘indie’ fare, instead insist on reaching for something more grandiose and emotional. Winter People are based in Sydney but you won’t find it easy to pigeon-hole the band into any particular hipster movement. Winter People are timeless. Nexus | 9-30 pm

Off the Couch Showcase
Within the Coopers Fuse West showcase, Carclew Youth Arts has hand-picked three of Adelaide’s most promising original artists for a special Off The Couch showcase celebrating the national SLAM (Save Live Australian Music) day campaign. Fuse and Off the Couch are excited to host the South Australian arm of the National SLAM day initiative about drawing awareness to the crucial role that small venues play in cultivating and nurturing a musician’s career.
